Why I Offer EMDR Intensives
And Why Some Healing Deserves More Than 50 Minutes
There are some stories, sensations, and survival patterns that don’t fit neatly into a 50-minute box.
The impact of trauma—especially relational trauma—can be layered, slow to unwind, and not always accessible on demand. Sometimes, just as a client begins to access the core of what needs healing, the clock says time’s up.
That’s one reason I offer EMDR intensives.
These are longer, focused sessions (90 minutes to 3 hours) that allow for deeper processing, fewer interruptions, and more integration time. It’s not about doing more—it’s about creating the kind of space where your system doesn’t feel rushed, fragmented, or stuck in start-and-stop mode.
For many of my clients—especially those carrying emotional neglect, father wounds, or long-term hyper-independence—this extended time feels less clinical and more human. There’s room to breathe, pause, cry, notice, and continue without needing to shut it down halfway through.
Some clients use intensives to:
Move through a stuck memory or pattern that hasn’t shifted in weekly therapy
Prepare for a transition, confrontation, or emotionally charged season
Deepen healing between regular sessions
Begin therapy with momentum before settling into weekly or biweekly work
What to Expect
Before any intensive, we meet for a consultation to explore what you’re carrying, what your goals are, and whether an intensive is the right fit. Together, we shape a plan that honors your capacity and respects your nervous system.
You’ll never be rushed. There’s no pressure to "get it all out." The focus is on integration, not intensity for its own sake.
Sessions include EMDR, somatic resourcing, and time to land—emotionally and physically—before returning to your day.
This is not a quick fix. It’s a deeper container.
Because sometimes healing needs more room than a traditional hour can hold.
I support emotionally aware, high-achieving women of color who are ready to heal attachment wounds without overexplaining or overperforming.
