EMDR INTENSIVES

Focused support for deeper healing

What can EMDR Intensives Help with

Why Choose an EMDR Intensive?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) was developed by Dr. Francine Shapiro to accelerate the brain’s natural healing process by helping distressing memories become less emotionally charged and more adaptively integrated. Shapiro’s Adaptive Information Processing model suggests that unprocessed memories underlie many trauma symptoms, and EMDR helps complete that processing so your nervous system isn’t “stuck” in survival mode.PubMed+1

Faster, deeper healing than weekly therapy
Intensive EMDR packages allow for multiple hours of focused processing in one container, reducing the need for repetitive check‑ins and incremental progress, and enabling meaningful shifts sooner than traditional 60‑minute sessions. Research indicates that clients can experience symptom reduction in a more condensed timeframe when therapy is delivered in longer blocks of processing time.Know Your Mind+1

More space to address complexity
Standard 50–60 minute appointments often require time for everyday stressors, emotional stabilization, and recounting experiences—leaving less runway for the deep processing that trauma and complex attachment wounds demand. In contrast, intensives provide the room needed to stay in the therapeutic window and work through layered material with continuity and momentum.PMC

Safe and effective for complex trauma
Research supports that intensive formats are both safe and effective—even for clients with multiple trauma histories, high emotional intensity, or significant relational wounds—and can reduce PTSD and distress more rapidly with lower dropout rates compared to traditional pacing.Know Your Mind+1

Lasting results
Studies show that gains made in EMDR treatment are maintained over time, reflecting durable change rather than temporary relief.PMC

What’s Included in an EMDR Intensive

Available virtually in Massachusetts and Maryland, my EMDR intensives offer a structured, holistic approach to trauma healing for introspective adults seeking lasting change.

Each intensive includes:

  • 90-minute assessment – To understand your history, clarify goals, and build a personalized plan

  • EMDR with Ego States Parts Work – Gently works with inner protective parts to reduce internal conflict and access stuck trauma

  • Brainspotting – Helps release deeper, body-held trauma when words fall short

  • Mindfulness + somatic practices – Support regulation, embodiment, and post-session integration

  • 45-minute follow-up – Ensures clarity, reflection, and sustainable momentum

This format is ideal for high-functioning adults navigating:
✔ Attachment wounds (emotional neglect, father wounds)
✔ Trauma from family roles, enmeshment, or betrayal
✔ Burnout, shame, or guilt that persists despite insight
✔ Relational patterns that feel stuck—no matter how much you “know better”
