How this practice is structured (and why)
I don’t bill insurance directly. This is primarily to protect your privacy and allow flexibility in how we work together.
Insurance companies often require a diagnosis and detailed documentation, and may place limits on the frequency or duration of therapy. Those requirements can sometimes shape care in ways that don’t fully support the healing process.
By working out of network, therapy can be guided by what you need at a pace that feels right for you. This structure is about protecting privacy, flexibility, and quality of care
If you have questions about using insurance, out-of-network benefits, or other payment options, we can talk it through together.
Alternative Payment Options
Reimbursement & Out-of-Network Benefits
Superbill Support
If you have out-of-network coverage, I can provide a superbill (a detailed receipt of services) that you submit directly to your insurance for potential reimbursement.
Questions to Ask Your Insurance
To understand your coverage, contact your insurance company and ask:
Do I have out-of-network benefits for outpatient mental health services?
Is telehealth therapy covered?
What percentage of each session will be reimbursed?
How do I submit a superbill for reimbursement?
Do I need a referral from my primary care doctor?
Sliding Scale Options
I currently offer a limited number of sliding scale spots using the Green Bottle Method, with session fees ranging from $100 to $150.
If you're interested, please reach out to check availability.
If you need therapy below this range, I recommend Open Path Collective, a trusted nonprofit offering low-cost therapy options.
Partnership With Thrizer
I use Thrizer to make paying for therapy easier and less stressful. It’s a secure payment system that allows you to use your out-of-network benefits without the hassle of filing insurance claims yourself. You’ll only pay your in-network rate upfront, and Thrizer handles the rest, submitting claims and getting reimbursements directly from your insurance provider.
Your information is kept safe and private, and you’re always in control. If you have questions or feel unsure about it, I'm happy to walk you through it, or we can explore other options together. You’re never stuck or alone in the process.
Good Faith Estimate
As part of my commitment to transparency and your rights as a client, I will provide a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) for the cost of services.
Under federal law, all mental health professionals are required to offer a Good Faith Estimate to clients who are uninsured or who choose not to use their insurance benefits.
This estimate outlines the total expected cost of non-emergency services, including psychotherapy.
You have the right to receive this estimate in writing before services begin. If you receive a bill that is $400 or more above the estimate, you are entitled to dispute the charge.
I provide a GFE to all self-pay clients to help you make informed decisions about your care.
For more information about your rights under the No Surprises Act, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.
